Board of Trustees and Members

Governance of the Agora Learning Partnership falls within the responsibility of the Board of Trustees and the Members. 

The Academy Trust Handbook sets out three key responsibilities for Trustees:

• Strategic leadership – defining the vision, fostering the trust’s culture and setting the strategy
• Accountability and assurance – robust and effective oversight of trust operations and performance
• Strategic engagement – oversight of relationships with stakeholders, ensuring decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement

The role of the Board of Trustees is to work collectively on behalf of the whole Trust, to provide:

• Clarity of vision and aims
• Strategic oversight and overall performance
• Accountability for educational standards and outcomes
• Accountability for financial standards and compliance, financial viability and risk management
• Support and challenge to Trust Senior Leaders.

It is the overall responsibility of the Members to ensure that the Board of Trustees is exercising effective governance.
