The Orchard Primary School

Virtual tour

The Orchard Primary is a two-form entry primary school located on Gammons Lane in North Watford. Orchard is located in a very multicultural area with 39 different languages spoken by the parental community. We have been fully two form entry from September 2018 having gone through expansion.

Orchard’s vision is for every child to leave Orchard physically, creatively and academically fit for life. At Orchard we believe that part of our role as a school is to prepare children for later life. During their time with us they need to develop essential life skills for them to become well-rounded individuals who can reach their personal best. We have introduced six core values, based on the Youth Sports Trust’s ‘My Personal Best’ initiative: respect, resilience, trust, resourcefulness, integrity and reflection.

Collaborative working across Alban Wood Primary School and The Orchard Primary School is facilitated by the Executive Headteacher, Paul Sutton. He supports other headteachers in the Trust in utilising the management information system and using the assessment system to its full potential.

Waterside Academy

Waterside Academy is a small primary academy based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

We are very proud to be a part of the Agora Learning Partnership, which includes a growing number of schools across the county.

Our aim here at Waterside is to ensure that the pupils who attend our school are kept safe and can learn happily, succeeding both academically and socially. The children at our school are enthusiastic learners and we do our very best to make activities engaging, challenging and fun!

By the time our pupils leave us, aged 11, to attend secondary school, they do so having experienced a broad and balanced curriculum that is laced with both the knowledge and skills they need to be a success in the next step of their education journey. All within our local context here in central Hertfordshire.

This year we have had the privilege of leading a very important project, that will not only benefit the teachers (and therefore pupils) here at Waterside but across the trust as a whole. We have a great many newly or recently qualified teachers here at Waterside and, as such, we have been leading an ongoing training program for all teachers in the early stages of their careers across all nine trust schools. It is vitally important to us that we invest our time, energy and expertise in helping our teachers to fully develop and grow their own knowledge and skills so that those they teach can receive the very best education. We are proud to lead on this important trust-wide initiative.
